Another enjoyable - but, for the first time, damp – afternoon serving the thirsty throng at Potton Apple Day.

Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather early on, there were fewer visitors than usual but those who took advantage of the refreshments on offer at the East Beds CAMRA Cider stall all seemed to leave with a contented glow.

Despite the lower numbers attending the event there were still queues at the cider stall and we managed to make a profit – although about half of that which we achieved last year – thanks to the good humour and dedication of our volunteers.

So my thanks to Tim, Rob, Simon, Mel and Dave for making our attendance a success.

Me? I was assigned to providing cakes, rolls and washing up duties and kept as far away from the public as possible.
